A Book or a Blog
I had a choice a book or a blog.
A book is permanent and can not be added to.
As certain events trigger memories, I decided on a blog, so I could add to it.
My Adoption Story
I was Stolen and Sold at Birth through the St Mary's Unwed Home for Single mothers in Otahuhu, Auckland, New Zealand.
My story starts in 1971 when my biological mother met my biological father as teenagers.
I was sold for $200 to a married couple who are parishioners of the church, as in the churches eyes children should only be raised by a married couple, not teenagers who were planning to marry.
At 20 I found my biological mother.
At 46 I found my biological father.
50 years later, my story continues as I try and come to terms with missing out on the life I should have had and the realisation that I was child trafficked through the Anglican Church and it was legal for them to do so.
(The picture to the right is of me, the only way to get me to smile at even such a young age was to give me a pool ball to holder onto.)

About Us
We are a support group for individuals who have experienced adoption trauma. Our mission is to provide a safe and supportive environment where members can share their personal stories, connect with others who have gone through similar experiences, and find resources for healing and advocacy.
At Adoption Is Trauma, we understand the emotional and psychological impact of adoption, especially the trauma that adoptees face from being separated from their biological mothers at birth. Our founder, a fellow adoptee who was stolen and sold through a church-run unwed home for mothers, shares her experiences on the blog, exploring themes related to adoption trauma and the emotional journey of the author, offering a unique perspective within the adoption niche.
